Aluminum cable gripper system purpose-designed for data-center M&E suspension. Eliminates the risk of zinc whiskers — microscopic conductive particles that cause failures in modern electronic systems and circuit boards.
Why Aluminum in Data Centers?
Zinc whiskers grow from zinc-plated hardware and have caused extensive failures in modern electronics. The problem is accelerating as:
- Circuit boards become more miniaturized with tighter spacing
- Operating voltages drop (insufficient to melt whisker short circuits)
- Computer room infrastructure ages (whiskers accumulate over 10–30+ years)
- System upgrades disturb old hardware, generating airborne whisker debris

Installation & Safety
- Pass wire around fixing point
- Thread wire end through gripper as arrow shows
- Pass wire back through free channel
- Leave approximately 6" of wire protruding
- Confirm engagement by pushing adjustment rod opposite to arrow direction
